Heute habe ich ein weiteres Layout für Euch mit Fotos von meiner kleinen C.
Sie ist momentan in dem Alter, in dem sie beim Essen soviel es nur geht in den  Mund stopft und es dann stolz vorzeigt. *lach* ... ich hoffe das geht schnell wieder vorbei.

Aber da sie sowieso nur wenig isst, sind wir schon froh wenn sie zumindest bei der Fleischwurst mal zugreift ... auch wenn es dann ein ganzer Mund voll ist.

Today I have a new layout for you with images of my little goddaughter C.
She is currently at the age that requires you to put as much food as possible in your mouth and then show it off to anybody who cares, or rather doesn't. 

I hope that will pass quickly :)

But since she is a very picky eater, we are happy that she at least eats her Bologna - with or without the sandwich part - even if her mouth is more than full.  

Ich wollte das Hintergrund papier von Shimelle, das ich so toll finde, ein wenig in Szene setzen und habe es verkleinert und die Ränder geinkt. Dann habe ich es mit der Nähmaschine ein wenig Struktur verliehen. Die Fotos habe ich in einem dreier Block angeordnet und dann mit Embellishments versehen. Zum Schluss noch ein paar Pailetten und dann war es auch schon komplett.

I wanted to highlight the background paper by Shimelle a bit, so I trimmed it and then added a bit of sewing to give it more texture and inked the edges. I aligned the photos and added the embellishment clusters. Last but not least a bit more sewing and some sequins and it was done.

Scrapbook Layout - Puppenwagen

 

Eigentlich hatte ich gar nicht vor heute etwas zu posten, aber da ich gerade bei meine Mutter faul auf der Couch sitze, ist doch der perfekte Moment mal die Blogger App auszuprobieren. 

Das Layout habe ich am Samstag erstellt da ich momentan total verliebt in die Fotos meine Patentochter  C. verliebt bin. Wir waren letztes Wochenende spazieren und ich könnte mal wieder nach Lust und Laune Fotos machen während wir die ersten Sonnenstrahlen des Frühlings genossen haben. 

Nachdem ich meine Scrapecke sortiert habe, habe ich es mir zur Aufgabe gemacht mal mehr Produkte zu verwenden. Wie soviel Andere bin ich eine absoluter Experte Zubehör und Material zu sammeln, verwende es dann aber nicht weil es "ja viel zu schön" ist. 

Also habe ich mir jetzt vorgenommen mal ein wenig großzügiger mit meinem Material umzugehen.

Außerdem habe ich mit mir selbst den Deal gemacht, dass es außer meinen SC Abos aktuell keine neues Material mehr gibt, bis ich nicht mal einen Großteil meines Materials verbraucht habe. 

Ich denke es wird also demnächst öfter Layouts mit viel Material geben. 

Hier habe ich mal einige Lagen eingebaut und viel pink und Gold verarbeitet, obwohl ich sonst nicht so der pinke girly Typ bin, aber ich fand das Papier von Crate Paper so toll. Da ich nur ein Teilstück hatte habe ich noch mit dem Inking Tool und einer Schablone ein paar Wolken aufgetragen. 

Als letzten Touch habe ich oben das Ganze noch mit einem dünnen Streifen Washi abgegrenzt. 

I never intended to post an entry today, but I am currently sitting around on my Mom's couch, so it feels like the perfect time to try out the Blogger App. 

The layout was done yesterday. I am so in love with the pictures of my goddaughter C. that I just keep on creating layout after layout. We went for a walk last weekend and enjoyed one of the the first days of spring, so I was able to take loads of pictures. 

After organizing my scrap space the other day I gave myself the order to use more products on my pages. Like so many of you I am an expert in buying and hoarding product and then never using it, because it's "too pretty to use". 

So now I decided to be more generous with my product. I also made myself the deal to not buy any new product other than my studio calico subs until there's a serious dent in my stash. 

I added a bunch of layers in this layout and against my usual style a lot of pink and gold,even though I am not usually the pink, girly type in my scrapbook, but I love the pink chevron paper from Crate Paper I used as a background. since I only had a partial sheet left I added sum clouds with my inking tool and a stencil and finished it off at the top with some skinny washi.

Project Life 2015 - Week 14

Das Highlight der Woche war das Konzert von Marc Broussard in Düsseldorf. Ich habe mich da schon seit Monaten drauf gefreut, weil ich es auf meiner Bucket Liste hatte ihn einmal Live zu erleben und es sich bisher noch nie ergeben hatte. Er ist in einer winzigen Eckkneipe aufgetreten und da waren vielleicht 60 Leute, wenn überhaupt. In USA spielt er auf Festivals und vor riesigem Publikum. Naja, um so besser für mich.

Ich arbeite häufiger mit Leuten, bei denen der ein oder andere auf der Strasse schonmal ein wenig Starstruck oder verrückt reagieren würde und es ist schon sehr, sehr lange her, das ich bei Stars und Sternchen nervös werde, aber es war schon etwas aufregend ihn nach einem Foto zu fragen.  Dazu kam das meine Freundin kurzfristig absagen musste und ich allein war. Normalerweise würde ich in so einer Situation auch eher zu Hause bleiben, aber ich bin froh das ich trotzdem gegangen bin.


Highlight of the week was going to see Marc Broussard, who gave a concert in my town. I have been anxiously awaiting this day, cause I've never had a chance to see him play and it's been a bucket list item. He played in this tiny bar and I counted maybe 60 people. Crazy! In the States he plays Festivals and for major audiences and here nobody knows who he is. Well, good for me. It was AMAZING! 

I have met and worked with a lot of people, that others often go a bit starstruck and crazy about, and it's been a long time that I got rattled by celebrity ... but yeah, it was nerve-wracking to ask for a picture. Especially since I had to go by myself on short notice and I tend to then not go ... but I am so glad I did. 

In addition I worked a new catsitting job and the little old lady was so cute and so tiny compared to my Marsha. It was like nothing when she sat on me every night while we watched TV. When Marsha snuggles up on my tummy, I definitely feel it. 
Also, I am almost at the end of my current Finance job ... last year end closing at that company. Yay! That is certainly something I won't miss.




Das gesamte Layout war für mich eine echte Herrausvorderung und ich finde irgendwie sieht man das auch.
Ich habe diese absolut wunderschönen gold gefoilten (gibt es dafür eigentlich ein deutsches Wort?) Osterkarten und hatte mich schon gefreut sie zu nutzen, aber es war echt schwierig diese in dem Layout zu verarbeiten, da sie so filigran ausschauen ... und meine Bilder und der Rest so gar nicht.

Ich hatte noch eine gefoilte Paislee Press Card, die wir letztens bei einem Crop mal mit Minc Folie versehen hatten, so konnte ich wenigstens den Effekt noch auf die andere Seite holen.

Ostern war sehr ruhig bei und. Meine Mutter und ich haben ein schönes Osterfrühstück gemacht und sind Nachmittag in der ersten Frühlingssonne spazieren gegangen und haben ein Eis gegessen.


This spread overall was super challenging and I think it shows. 
I have the absolute beautiful gold foiled religious Easter Cards from Studio Calico that I had been super exited about to use, but they ended up being difficult to incorporate with the pictures. 
I still had a Paislee Press card, that we foiled ourselves with Minc foil at a crop the other day, so I was at least able to bring the foiling to the other side.

Easter was a quiet affair with a gorgeous breakfast at my mom's and a walk in the afternoon, which was the first nice, "spring-y" day this year.

Scrapbook Layout - "Groupies" - Studio Calico Odyssey

Hi, heute mal wieder ein traditionelles 12x12 Layout.
12x12 ist für mich immer noch sehr schwierig, da ich mit all der Fläche nur schwer zurecht komme. Ich komme besser mit den kleineren Pockets klar, aber ich will ja auch dazu lernen.

Das Selfie Fail ist letzten Herbst spontan in Las Vegas entstanden und ich liebe es einfach, weil es unsere Gruppe einfach perfekt beschreibt. Ein bisschen bekloppt und ständig fallen wir aus dem Rahmen.


Today I am showing you a traditional 12x12 Layout.
12x12 is still outside my comfort zone, there is just way too much space to get creative on. I prefer pocket scrapbooking, but I won't learn if I don't try, right?

The selfie Fail was taken last fall in Vegas and I just love that picture because it captures our group perfectly. Slightly crazy and outside the norm :D.

Project Life 2015 - Week 13: Keine Fotos ... Kein Problem

Als ich Pocket Scrapbooking vor zwei Jahren entdeckte, war es für mich eigentlich nur ein Projekt um meine Stapel von Fotos auf eine einfache Art und Weise in Alben zu bekommen bevor diese in Schuhkartons im Keller vergammeln würden. Mein Leben im Detail zu dokumentieren war nie meine Intention.

Wie bei so vielen Dingen im Leben kommt es oft anders als man denkt, und auf einmal hatte ich mehr Core Kits im Haus als ich Leben verbrauchen kann und habe angefangen mein Leben zu dokumentieren.

Das häufigste Argument von Bekannten und was ich im Internet lese ist: "...ja, aber bei mir passiert ja nix. Was soll ich denn fotografieren?" Und genau diesen Gedanken hatte ich auch. Und wenn ich ehrlich bin, ab und an noch immer. Aber wenn ich ehrlich bin gibt es so viele Momente und Dinge die mich ausmachen, die ich gar nicht wirklich in Fotos festhalte.

Da ich in dieser Woche so gut wie keine Fotos gemacht habe - weil erstens wirklich nichts aufregendes passiert ist und ich zu allem Überfluss mein Telefon / Kamera in einer Pfütze versenkt hatte- habe ich mir überlegt mal eine Kategorie meines Lebens zu dokumentieren und habe mich für Entertainment entschieden.

When I discovered Pocket Scrapbooking two years ago, I was searching for an easy photoalbum to store my boxes of analogue pictures. Documenting my everyday life was never my intention, but what do you know ... here we are. Soon I had more core kits at home than I can use up in a lifetime and started documenting my life weekly.

The strongest argument people give me against PL is "... but nothing happens in my life. What should I ever take photos of?" And I admit, I had the same reasoning when I started - and sometimes I still question my sanity - but now I realized, that there are so many moments and things that make me unique, that I never really captured in photos.

Since I hardly took any pictures this week, because nothing exciting happened (and I didn't have my phone and therefore my camera) I tried to figure out which category of my life I could document and I decided on entertainment.




Das ich gerne Serien schaue ist in meinem PL nicht zu übersehen, aber trotzdem habe ich mal im Netz nach Bildern meiner aktuellen Serien geschaut. Dann habe ich noch meinen Stapel Bücher fotografiert (ich lese immer mehrere Bücher gleichzeitig weil ich Auswahl brauche) und meine Podcasts vom Apple TV abfotografiert. Seit Serial letztes Jahr im Herbst habe ich Podcasts für mich entdeckt und höre diese meist im Auto oder beim scrappen. Voilà, noch ein Screenshot meiner Favoriten im Netz Internet und schon habe ich einen wichtigen Teil meines Lebens dokumentiert ohne tatsächlich während der Woche ein Foto gemacht zu haben.

Beim nächsten Mal dokumentiere ich vielleicht mal meine Wohnung, oder meine Bücherregale, oder mein Weg zur Arbeit, meine regelmäßigen Besorgungen .... es gibt so einiges.

Habt ihr noch Ideen mit welchen "Kategorien" man Foto "schwache" Wochen überbrücken kann?

My PL doesn't let you miss, that I love TV shows, but still I looked for some pictures of my current favorites. Then I took a picture of the stack of books I am currently reading ( I always need a choice and can't just read one book) and a picture of the podcasts I am subscribed to off my Apple TV. I discovered my love for podcasts when Serial came out last fall and now always listen to them in the car or while scrapping. Voilà, a screenshot of my Favorite Bookmarks rounds up the documentation of an important part of my life and my personality, without taking an actual picture over the week.

Next time I might document my apartment, or my shelves, my commute, or maybe the places I run regular errands to ... there are so many things to document.

Do you have any suggestions of "categories" that can help "cover" those weeks with only a few to no photos?

Scrapbook Layout - Familiar Faces

Was man nicht alles lernt wenn man 3 Wochen ohne iPhone leben muss - weil man es in eine Pfütze schmeisst - man kann auch keine Google SMS mehr empfangen, um in sein Blogger Konto zu kommen. Ich sehe schon, ich lerne diese Blogger Geschichte von der Pike auf.

Aber, um so mehr kann ich diese Woche mit Euch teilen, da ich am Wochenende super scrappy unterwegs war, und einiges gezaubert habe.

Heute zeige ich Euch ein Fotoautomaten Layout. Ich liebe Fotoautomaten. LIEBE Fotoautomaten ... ich kann an keinem analogen Automaten vorbeigehen ohne Fotos zu machen, aber leider gibt es davon in Europa nur noch wenige. Da musste ich es im März ausnutzen, als ich in Wien war, und bin extra am Wiener Automat vorbeigegangen um neue Fotos zu machen.

Wie die Fotos beweisen, darf man mich in so einem Gerät allerdings nicht allein lassen.

So, what you learn when you have to live without iPhone, or phone in general, for three weeks, because you just had to drop it into a puddle - you cannot receive two-step verification txts from Google to be let in to your Blogger account. As you can see, I am learning the blogging thing the hard way. 

But at least I can share a lot with you this week. I was super scrappy happy this weekends and was able to finish quite a few layouts and PL spreads.

Today I am showing you a Photo Booth layout. I love a old-fashioned Photo Booth. LOVE 'EM ... I am unable to walk by any old-fashioned, analogue Photo Booth, but unfortunately there are only a few left in Europe. So when I was in Vienna in March I took an extra trip and made sure to find it, just to get new photos.

The Photostrip proves though, that I shouldn't be left alone in 'em. 




Ich bin total in den Odyssey Kit von Studio Calico verliebt. Die Farben und Musterkombinationen sind total mein Ding. Alles ist sehr frisch und geometrisch, was mir mehr liegt, als die femininen Kollektionen mit viel rose und Blumenmustern.

Außerdem habe ich mich mal mit meiner Nähmaschine beschäftigt und sie gleich eingesetzt. Der Look mit den Nähten gefällt mir wirklich sehr gut. Den werde ich jetzt glaube ich häufiger anwenden.

I am in love with the Odyseey Kit by Studio Calico. The colors and bold Patterns are absolutely up my alley. Everything looks fresh and geometrical, which I can work with much easier than the more rose colored, flowery collections that are often popular.

This weekend I finally took the time to familiarize myself more with my sewing machine and was able to use it on the layouts. The machine stitched look really adds to the dimension and I am sure I will use it regularly in the future. I just wish I could see better ... getting the needle threaded is a pain. 
Oh the joys of getting old :D
