heute mal ein scrap-lift von Mercytiara. Ich habe die Idee in einem Ihrer Process videos gesehen und fand sie sehr schön. Wie das Bastler Leben so spielt, kommt es dann doch anders aber ich bin mit dem Endergebnis sehr zufrieden.
Die Farbkombination und der Stil sind auch schon so mehr meins.

today I am showing you a scrap-lift from one of Mercitiara's awesome layouts. I saw the idea in one of her Process videos. We all know how a scrappers life goes, and it turned out differently than I had anticipated, but I am very happy with it.
The color-scheme and style is very much me.



Der Odyssey Kit ist der erste Studio Calico Kit den ich versuche zu killen, und es ist unglaublich zu sehen wieviele Produkte in einem monatlichen Kit sind. Nach jedem Layout denke ich mit, ich müsste doch langsam mal am Ende angekommen sein, aber nein ... eins geht noch ;) Oder auch zwei, oder drei ...

Auf diesem Layout habe ich dann auch mal meine altbewährten Ali Studio Stempel verwenden können. In meinem Project Life Album stempele ich ja relativ viel, aber auf meinen traditionellen Layouts kommt das leider noch relativ selten vor.

The Odyssey Kit is the first Studio Calico Kit I am trying to "kill" and it's unbeliveable how much product is in one single kit. Everytime I finish  a layout, I am sure it's done now, but no ... there's enough stuff for another layout ... or two ... or three.

On this layout I finally had a chance to use my old Ali Studio Stamps. I do stamp quite a bit in my Project Life Layouts, but not so much on my traditional layouts.

Scrapbook Layout: Moppel

Heute möchte ich Euch ein Layout zeigen, welches nicht so meinem eigentlichen Stil entspricht, aber ich finde die farbenfrohen LO's von Paige Evans immer so toll, das ich einmal etwas ähnliches ausprobieren wollte.

Wird aber glaube ich nicht mehr vorkommen :) Was war das für eine Fummelsarbeit! Ain't nobody got time for that! Schön finde ich es trotzdem, aber viel zu viel Arbeit. Wahnsinn wie leicht so was bei Paige immer aussieht.

Today I want to show you a layout, which doesn't really reflect my usual style, but I always love Paige Evans colorful and intricate layouts so I wanted to try something similar.

Won't happen again though :) What a nightmare to put together. Ain't nobody got time for that! I do think it turned out quite beautiful though, just way too much work. Kudos to Paige, who makes it look effortless.

Scrapbook Layout: Selfie Cutie

Heute möchte ich Euch noch das Layout zeigen, welches ich für die Studio Calico Message Board Challenge erstellt habe, die ich am Samstag dort moderiert habe.
Die Challenge Layer it up! rief dazu auf, dass man mindestens 5 verschiedene Layer auf der Seite unterbringt. Das war für mich nicht das Einfachste, ich mag es doch eher einfach.
Aber ich bin trotzdem sehr zufrieden mit dem Layout.

Ich habe einiges von Shimelles aktueller Kollektion verbraucht, da es farblich perfekt zu J's Kleidung passte.

Today I am showing you a LO I prepared for the Studio Calico MB Challenge I hosted last weekend.
The "Layer it Up" challenge asked to use a minimum of 5 layers, and trust me ... I was challenged :)
But I am pretty happy with how the layout turned out.

I used a lot of paper scraps from Shimelles current collection, because it happened to match J's clothing.



Außerdem habe ich mir von Shimelle mal das "inken" der Ränder abgeschaut und war sehr begeistert von dem Effekt.

I also learned the inking of the edges trick from her process videos and I am very happy with the impact it makes for the page.



Neben Pattern Paper habe ich noch Label, Journaling Cards, Vellum, Wood Veneers und Die Cuts zum Layern verwendet. Mir kann wirklich keiner nachsagen, ich hätte es nicht versucht.

Other than Pattern Paper I used lables, journaling cards, vellum, wood veneers and die cuts to layer. Nobody can say I didn't try :D



Zum Abschluss noch ein wenig Farbe und diese gelben Resin Sterne aus irgendeinem der letzten Kits und voilà ... ein neues Layout.

As a finishing touch I added Mist and yellow Resin stars from one of the previous SC Kits and voilà ... a new layout.

Scrapbook Layout - Sweetest Little Thing

Heute habe ich ein weiteres Layout für Euch mit Fotos von meiner kleinen C.
Sie ist momentan in dem Alter, in dem sie beim Essen soviel es nur geht in den  Mund stopft und es dann stolz vorzeigt. *lach* ... ich hoffe das geht schnell wieder vorbei.

Aber da sie sowieso nur wenig isst, sind wir schon froh wenn sie zumindest bei der Fleischwurst mal zugreift ... auch wenn es dann ein ganzer Mund voll ist.

Today I have a new layout for you with images of my little goddaughter C.
She is currently at the age that requires you to put as much food as possible in your mouth and then show it off to anybody who cares, or rather doesn't. 

I hope that will pass quickly :)

But since she is a very picky eater, we are happy that she at least eats her Bologna - with or without the sandwich part - even if her mouth is more than full.  

Ich wollte das Hintergrund papier von Shimelle, das ich so toll finde, ein wenig in Szene setzen und habe es verkleinert und die Ränder geinkt. Dann habe ich es mit der Nähmaschine ein wenig Struktur verliehen. Die Fotos habe ich in einem dreier Block angeordnet und dann mit Embellishments versehen. Zum Schluss noch ein paar Pailetten und dann war es auch schon komplett.

I wanted to highlight the background paper by Shimelle a bit, so I trimmed it and then added a bit of sewing to give it more texture and inked the edges. I aligned the photos and added the embellishment clusters. Last but not least a bit more sewing and some sequins and it was done.

Scrapbook Layout - Puppenwagen

 

Eigentlich hatte ich gar nicht vor heute etwas zu posten, aber da ich gerade bei meine Mutter faul auf der Couch sitze, ist doch der perfekte Moment mal die Blogger App auszuprobieren. 

Das Layout habe ich am Samstag erstellt da ich momentan total verliebt in die Fotos meine Patentochter  C. verliebt bin. Wir waren letztes Wochenende spazieren und ich könnte mal wieder nach Lust und Laune Fotos machen während wir die ersten Sonnenstrahlen des Frühlings genossen haben. 

Nachdem ich meine Scrapecke sortiert habe, habe ich es mir zur Aufgabe gemacht mal mehr Produkte zu verwenden. Wie soviel Andere bin ich eine absoluter Experte Zubehör und Material zu sammeln, verwende es dann aber nicht weil es "ja viel zu schön" ist. 

Also habe ich mir jetzt vorgenommen mal ein wenig großzügiger mit meinem Material umzugehen.

Außerdem habe ich mit mir selbst den Deal gemacht, dass es außer meinen SC Abos aktuell keine neues Material mehr gibt, bis ich nicht mal einen Großteil meines Materials verbraucht habe. 

Ich denke es wird also demnächst öfter Layouts mit viel Material geben. 

Hier habe ich mal einige Lagen eingebaut und viel pink und Gold verarbeitet, obwohl ich sonst nicht so der pinke girly Typ bin, aber ich fand das Papier von Crate Paper so toll. Da ich nur ein Teilstück hatte habe ich noch mit dem Inking Tool und einer Schablone ein paar Wolken aufgetragen. 

Als letzten Touch habe ich oben das Ganze noch mit einem dünnen Streifen Washi abgegrenzt. 

I never intended to post an entry today, but I am currently sitting around on my Mom's couch, so it feels like the perfect time to try out the Blogger App. 

The layout was done yesterday. I am so in love with the pictures of my goddaughter C. that I just keep on creating layout after layout. We went for a walk last weekend and enjoyed one of the the first days of spring, so I was able to take loads of pictures. 

After organizing my scrap space the other day I gave myself the order to use more products on my pages. Like so many of you I am an expert in buying and hoarding product and then never using it, because it's "too pretty to use". 

So now I decided to be more generous with my product. I also made myself the deal to not buy any new product other than my studio calico subs until there's a serious dent in my stash. 

I added a bunch of layers in this layout and against my usual style a lot of pink and gold,even though I am not usually the pink, girly type in my scrapbook, but I love the pink chevron paper from Crate Paper I used as a background. since I only had a partial sheet left I added sum clouds with my inking tool and a stencil and finished it off at the top with some skinny washi.

Scrapbook Layout - "Groupies" - Studio Calico Odyssey

Hi, heute mal wieder ein traditionelles 12x12 Layout.
12x12 ist für mich immer noch sehr schwierig, da ich mit all der Fläche nur schwer zurecht komme. Ich komme besser mit den kleineren Pockets klar, aber ich will ja auch dazu lernen.

Das Selfie Fail ist letzten Herbst spontan in Las Vegas entstanden und ich liebe es einfach, weil es unsere Gruppe einfach perfekt beschreibt. Ein bisschen bekloppt und ständig fallen wir aus dem Rahmen.


Today I am showing you a traditional 12x12 Layout.
12x12 is still outside my comfort zone, there is just way too much space to get creative on. I prefer pocket scrapbooking, but I won't learn if I don't try, right?

The selfie Fail was taken last fall in Vegas and I just love that picture because it captures our group perfectly. Slightly crazy and outside the norm :D.

Scrapbook Layout - Familiar Faces

Was man nicht alles lernt wenn man 3 Wochen ohne iPhone leben muss - weil man es in eine Pfütze schmeisst - man kann auch keine Google SMS mehr empfangen, um in sein Blogger Konto zu kommen. Ich sehe schon, ich lerne diese Blogger Geschichte von der Pike auf.

Aber, um so mehr kann ich diese Woche mit Euch teilen, da ich am Wochenende super scrappy unterwegs war, und einiges gezaubert habe.

Heute zeige ich Euch ein Fotoautomaten Layout. Ich liebe Fotoautomaten. LIEBE Fotoautomaten ... ich kann an keinem analogen Automaten vorbeigehen ohne Fotos zu machen, aber leider gibt es davon in Europa nur noch wenige. Da musste ich es im März ausnutzen, als ich in Wien war, und bin extra am Wiener Automat vorbeigegangen um neue Fotos zu machen.

Wie die Fotos beweisen, darf man mich in so einem Gerät allerdings nicht allein lassen.

So, what you learn when you have to live without iPhone, or phone in general, for three weeks, because you just had to drop it into a puddle - you cannot receive two-step verification txts from Google to be let in to your Blogger account. As you can see, I am learning the blogging thing the hard way. 

But at least I can share a lot with you this week. I was super scrappy happy this weekends and was able to finish quite a few layouts and PL spreads.

Today I am showing you a Photo Booth layout. I love a old-fashioned Photo Booth. LOVE 'EM ... I am unable to walk by any old-fashioned, analogue Photo Booth, but unfortunately there are only a few left in Europe. So when I was in Vienna in March I took an extra trip and made sure to find it, just to get new photos.

The Photostrip proves though, that I shouldn't be left alone in 'em. 




Ich bin total in den Odyssey Kit von Studio Calico verliebt. Die Farben und Musterkombinationen sind total mein Ding. Alles ist sehr frisch und geometrisch, was mir mehr liegt, als die femininen Kollektionen mit viel rose und Blumenmustern.

Außerdem habe ich mich mal mit meiner Nähmaschine beschäftigt und sie gleich eingesetzt. Der Look mit den Nähten gefällt mir wirklich sehr gut. Den werde ich jetzt glaube ich häufiger anwenden.

I am in love with the Odyseey Kit by Studio Calico. The colors and bold Patterns are absolutely up my alley. Everything looks fresh and geometrical, which I can work with much easier than the more rose colored, flowery collections that are often popular.

This weekend I finally took the time to familiarize myself more with my sewing machine and was able to use it on the layouts. The machine stitched look really adds to the dimension and I am sure I will use it regularly in the future. I just wish I could see better ... getting the needle threaded is a pain. 
Oh the joys of getting old :D

Project Life - Week 8

Überraschung! Ich habe ja gesagt, dass ich versuchen werde die noch fehlenden Seiten aufzuholen.

Tadaa! Woche 8 ist auch schon da. Die Woche ist ein schönes Beispiel dafür, das ich Wochen habe wo ich das fotografieren völlig vergesse und dann sitze ich am Sonntag Abend vor Lightroom, und weiß nicht wie ich denn zwei ganze Seiten füllen soll. Habt Ihr das Problem auch öfter?

Die letze Woche war bei mir auch so ein Fall, da muss ich mir auch noch etwas einfallen lassen.

In der Woche habe ich auf jeden Fall einiges an Netflix Serien aufgeholt. Seit ich Netflix auf dem iPad habe, schaue ich beim Arbeiten und basteln immer gerne nebenbei Filme und Serien.

Surprise! Like I said, I will try to update the rest of the missing pages in order to stay a bit current.

And without further ado, week 8 is up and running. This week was a prime example, that I often have weeks when I take little to none photos and then Sunday night I stare at Lightroom and have no idea what to do and how to fill two pages. Do you run into that problem as well?

This past week was the same, I still have to come up with an idea of how to cover for that.

During week 8 I caught up on my Netflix Queue quite a bit. Ever since I have Netflix on my iPad I often like to watch movies or shows while working or crafting.

Project Life 2015 - Week 1 - Studio Calico Kit: Walden

Dieses Jahr hat es einige Wochen gedauert, bis ich wieder in den PL Rythmus gekommen bin. Der Winter hier will aber auch kein Ende nehmen, und da hat sich meine Kreativität gleich mit eingeigelt. Ende Februar kam dann aber der imaginäre Tritt in den Allerwertesten und ich habe an einem Wochenende mal reingeklotzt und 8 Wochen nachgeholt. Frei nach dem Motto "Done is better than perfect" (Fertig ist besser als perfekt) den die Damen wie Becky Higgins ja gerne immer und wieder vom Stapel lassen.  Also, Stapel Fotos von Rossmann kommen lassen und boom ...

This year it took a few weeks until I got back into the PL rhythm. Winter just doesn't want to end and apparently my creativity is hibernating. At the end of February I gave myself a proverbial kick in the behind and just finished 8 weeks on a weekend. I stuck closely to Becky Higgins favorite line "Done is better than perfect". I hope she's right.

Scrapbook Layout: Boys will be Boys - Studio Calico "Odyssey" Kit

Ich habe es tatsächlich fertiggebracht mein erstes 12x12 Layout dieses Jahr zu scrappen! Ich schiebe das auf meine Liebe zu Project Life. Überraschenderweise, habe ich es tatsächlich geschafft das Jahr 2014 vollständig zu dokumentieren, daher kann ich mir selbst nicht so wirklich böse sein. Ja, es fehlen hier und da noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten, aber das Journaling und die Layouts sind fertig, also ist es fertig ;). Den Rest werd ich demnächst noch hier und da einfügen.

Eins meiner Ziele für 2015, ist endlich regelmäßig zu bloggen und meine Layouts und anderen Bastelarbeiten hier auf dem Blog vorzustellen und ich hoffe das ich es auch schaffe da dran zu bleiben.

Das Layout von gestern habe ich mit dem Studio Calico März Kit "Odyssey" erstellt. Die Farben diesen Monat sind wirklich spitze! Bei mir kann man ja mit schwarz & weiss, aqua, gelb, etc. nie etwas falsch machen.

Die Fotos sind von meinem New York Trip letztes Jahr, und liegen nun schon ziemlich genau ein Jahr hier und warteten darauf gescrappt zu werden. Ich glaube all die Erinnerungen meiner Freunde und anderer Fans online, haben mich dazu gebracht die Fotobomben Geschichte endlich zu erzählen.

I made my first 12x12 layout of the year yesterday *gasp*, for which I fully blame my love for Project Life. Surprisingly I actually managed to fully document my 2014, so I cannot be mad at myself.  I am still in shock! There's still a few bits and pieces missing here and there, but overall it is done and journaled, so I consider it documented. One of my goals for 2015 is to share more of my crafty adventures in 2015 here on the blog, so hopefully I will stick to that. 

The layout I made yesterday was made with the Studio Calico march kit 'Odyssey', which I absolutely adore, with black and white and aqua and yellow ... which are all A-OK in my book.

This is a layout of pictures from last years New York trip that had been waiting to be scrapped for exactly a year. I think all the online reminders of friends and fans made me finally wanting to tell that Photobomb story.
